Music Database Catalogues
These two database catalogues present meta-data and scanned facsimile of musical manuscripts and prints from the 17th and 18th centuries. The catalogues are managed from the Department of Musicology at Uppsala University.
The Düben Collection Database Catalogue
The Düben collection was donated to Uppsala University by Anders von Düben in 1732, and comprise music owned by the Düben family and used for music at the court and the German Chruch in Stockholm. The database catalogue includes all the manuscripts, with metadata and digitized images. The printed music is listed in a complementary pdf.
Eighteenth-Century Music in Swedish Libraries. A Database Catalogue
The database includes music manuscripts dating from 1718–1772, Sweden’s ”Age of Liberty”. The music is preserved in the university libraries of Uppsala and Lund, and in the former music library of the Swedish Royal Academy of Music (now Musik- och teaterbiblioteket, Stockholm). A share of the manuscripts originates from the musical activities of the Swedish royal court and Uppsala University. These closely related institutions housed Sweden’s leading ensembles. The database catalogue contains also music manuscripts from other contemporary music collections, those of Johan Fredrik Hallardt (1726–1794) and the leared society Utile Dulci. Included in the database is also the ”Roman collection”, containing music manuscripts connected to the Swedish royal court kapellmeister Johan Helmich Roman (1694–1758).
